On the lake shore of Maracaibo you can visit an old palafitic settlement of the Añú culture, Santa Rosa de Agua. This fishing community has approximately 200 years of existence, time in which it has developed an interesting sector that holds very high the value of culture and religion among indigenous and Hispanic traditions. It was declared a World Architectural Historic Heritage by UNESCO in 1992.
